Business benefit using World Wide Web technology and a LOCAL Web

To explain and demonstrate with business examples how Web
technology can be used in a local Web scenario and the business
benefits of doing so. The lecture will first explain the concept,
technology & meaning of a Local Web and its related technology.
It will then go on to explain the way a business could use this
concept and the benefits that can be derived therefrom. Case
studies and examples will be used to illustrate the issue.
The integration of documents, data and application systems
within an organisation to provide seamless information will be
described and the uses and advantages of doing so. The
implications to an organisation going this route will be
highlighted with the risk areas. First steps will be detailed.
